x Dominica Early Letters and Handstamps 1824 (12 June) and (3 July) entire letters from John Lodington, Aide-de-Camp to the Governor, to Charles Cox, Royal Marine Agency Office, London, both rated "1/8" and showing, on reverse, red step-type "falmouth/ship letter" (one with part cut away). The writer is in despair: first mentions the torment of Woman Woodhouse; his forthcoming trial ("Gaol in this Town, death is preferable); and mention that Governor Earl Huntingdon is packed to leave by Man-of-War in a few hours. The second confirms Governor left on the Lady Pelham packet and that General Nicolay is momentarily expected as Governor. An interesting pair of covers
