x BAHAMAS Covers and Cancellations 1879 (20 Sept.) envelope (part flap missing) to Albert Bierstadt (one of America´s foremost painters, who also spent time painting in the Bahamas), New York, bearing 1863-77 CC perf. 14 4d. rose neatly cancelled "A05", showing New York "due/3/u.s. currency" duplex and bearing pre-cancelled U.S. Postage Due 3c. brown, Bahamas c.d.s. and New York "D" duplex on reverse.
