Edward IV, first reign, light coinage, Ryal, 7.47g., Norwich, type VI, king standing in ship, rose on ship´s side, banner inscribed E at stern, N in waves, reads FRNC for FRANC, followed by quatrefoil, rev. rose upon a radiate sun in centre of floriated cross, large fleurs in spandrels, trefoil stops, m.m. sun on reverse only (Schneider 422 (same obv. die); N.1552; S.1956) tiny striking crack in D of DI at 5 o´clock, small edge nick at 1´ and 7 o´ clock, otherwise a handsome portrait coin, good very fine, very rare thus Estimate £ 3,000-4,000PROVENANCE: W.
