Messing Hoard, Essex 1975
The Messing Hoard, a typical Civil War silver hoard of 2222 coins dating from the fine issue of Edward VI to Charles I, was found locally to Ivan Buck. Many of the coins were returned to the finder and Ivan was able to acquire a number of picked examples for his collection.
