Edward IV, second reign, Groats (2), London, (i) 2.83g., m.m. short cross fitchée/annulet, trefoils on cusps, none over crown, trefoil stops, (BW XIV/ XIII; S.2096; N.1631); (ii) 2.49g., m.m. small annulet/short cross fitchée, trefoils on cusps, no stops, (BW XIV/ XII) the first lightly double struck, on reverse, slightly weak on King´s face, otherwise deeply toned with extensive underlying golden/blue lustre, very fine, the second on a small flan, fine, both scarce (2) Estimate £ 150-200 PROVENANCE: (i) (ii) E M Norweb, collection of Edward IV Groats, acquired en bloc by Spink c.1987 Purchased Seaby, January 1990
