CIVI/TAS/LON/DON, no mintmarks or other marks, (BW p. 48; S.2088/2087; N.1623/1622) very fine, an extremely rare mule Estimate £ 500-600PROVENANCE: Purchased Rayleigh MDC (Metal Detectorists Club), August 1999 This remarkable and unpublished coin is struck from the same obverse die, but a different reverse die from the only other known example. Presumably, the obverse die was prepared for use at York but never dispatched and found its way in to production at the London mint.
