Edward IV, light coinage, Groats (2), type Xa, London, (i) 2.94g., m.m. long cross fitchée/sun, trefoils on cusps and at breast, trefoils by neck, (BW Xa, 3; S.2003; N.1577); (ii) 2.55g., similar to the last but with saltires by neck, (BW Xa, 1) the first lightly scratched on reverse, a full round coin, almost very fine, the second, rather small, good fine, a rare variety with saltires at neck (2) Estimate £ 120-150 PROVENANCE: (ii) E M Norweb, collection of Edward IV Groats, acquired en bloc by Spink c.1987 Purchased Seaby, January 1990
