An Officer´s Pouchbelt of the Cape Mounted Rifles A Victorian black patent leather belt, 3 in. wide, with white metal fittings, wavy buckle, slide and tip, the latter containing initials CMR, a Rifles-style lion´s head chain-boss (lacking whistle and chains), and ornate QVC "hobnailed" star plate, mounted with a bugle-horn with CMR in the strings, within an oakleaf wreath, two prickers behind, secured to the plate by short chains; complete with its black patent leather pouch bearing QVC over a small bugle-horn and Horse above a scroll inscribed AUCTO SPLENDORE RESURGO See illustration Estimate £ 300-450
