India General Service 1854-95, one clasp, Pegu (W.J.R. Card. Addl. Lieut. "Hastings"), some scratching over ship´s name, good very fine Estimate £ 320-360Commander William John Royle Card, Royal Navy, born 12.8.1819. Naval Cadet 19.12.1833, Mate 5.2.1840; Lieutenant 20.10.1843; Appointed to H.M.S. Hastings 4.10.1851 and joined her at sea, en route from Simonstown to Rangoon. He was never a member of Hasting´s ships company, and was registered aboard as as "Supernumerary", hence being shown as an "Additional Lieutenant". Retired as Commander 17.4.1868. Died 19.10.1883.
