Lord Mayor of London 1896-97´, nearly extremely fine, with contemporary silver riband buckle (2) Estimate £ 1,800-2,200Sir George Faudel-Phillips, Bt., G.C.I.E., J.P., D.L. (1840-1922), Sheriff, London and Middlesex 1884-85; Alderman of Farringdon Within Ward 1888-1912; High Sheriff of the County of London 1895; Lord Mayor of London 1896-97; created Baronet 1897; Knight Grand Commander of the Order of the Indian Empire 1897. Fourteen Gold Medals were awarded to the Lord Mayors and Lord Provosts of the major cities; in addition 512 medals of this design were struck in silver, and awarded to Mayors and Provosts.
