Hong Kong Treaty Ports Amoy 1865 (23 Aug.) Culverton envelope addressed to New York "Via Southampton" bearing 1863-71 2c. brown pair, 12c. pale greenish blue and 30c. vermilion tied by the "amoy paid" c.d.s. in red, Hong Kong "B62" in black with London Paid transit c.d.s. plus New York "paid" and "5/cents" accountancy handstamps along with "1/91/2" and "1" rate marks in magenta ink; the reverse with Hong Kong and New York c.d.s. An exceptionally fine and desirable example of the rare Amoy Paid c.d.s. This example not recorded by Gurevitch, who lists seventeen other covers. Holcombe Certificate (1997).
