CJ, margins virtually all round (just touched and tiny crease at lower-right), on entire letter from James Murdoch on the Isle of May to ´Robert Stevenson Esq., Engineer for the Northern Lights´ in Edinburgh dated 18 July 1840, tied by very fine strike of the red Maltese Cross, showing fine Craill datestamp on reverse; light enclosure bend. Fine and most attractive. A fascinating document An accompanying entire letter from the same correspondence was sold by Spink in 2004.
