x Great Britain Caricature envelope, State 1b (small imprint), addressed to the Poor Law Commission Office in London, showing very fine strikes of the red handstruck ´1´ and corresponding ´paid at edinr.´ c.d.s. of 18 July 1840 (both slightly oxidized), with overlapping red London Paid ´tombstone´ datestamp, the reverse with fine light strike of the black two-line ´lauriston/place´ receiving house mark; some creasing and minor damage around perimeters though still fine and most attractive.
