Great Britain 1834 (31 Dec.) entire letter from Malta to Vice-Admiral Sir Robert Otway in Brighton, carried privately to England and put into the post in Portsmouth, the address panel with very fine strike of the extremely rare framed ´Put in after/2 o/Clock´ of Portsmouth, manuscript rate ´8´ alongside, the reverse with very fine Portsmouth double-arc d.s. of 31 January 1835; fine and most attractive. Interesting and most amusing letter content which notes the despatch of ´a case of the island oranges to make the whole of your family sick, as well as many other of your friends in Brighton´.
