Crime and Punishment Crimes Debt 1691 (25 Apr.) entire letter written by Robert Webb, who was confined in Gloucester Castle gaol for debt, addressed to his creditor ´Richard Holford Esq. at his house neare the Rolls in Chancery Lane, London´ (the ´Rolls´ was a well known Coffee House – mentioned in Lillywhite´s book but pre-dating his reference by ten years) and seeking release from his debt, the address panel with ink manuscript rate ´3´, the reverse with part Bishop Mark; a few small wormholes not detracting. Also 1690 entire letter to Holford from Capt. Codrington referring to Webb´s arrest. Photo for the first Estimate £ 200-250
