Plate 1c, CF, good to very large margins, on neat clean entire letter from Falmouth to Hayle, tied by superb strike of the red ´falmouth/jy 29/1841´ double-arc datestamp and similarly superb black Maltese Cross. A stunning exhibition showpiece and extremely rare. Note: The Stanley Gibbons Specialised Catalogue quotes a stamp on piece at £5000 (unlike the 1840 1d. issue, the price listed appears to be for examples used in conjunction with the Maltese Cross).
