Herrington, 33rd By., 33rd Bde., R.F.A. (Hurstpierpoint) ´For repeated gallantry and devotion to duty during 17th Sept, to 11th Nov., 1918, more especially on 13th Oct., 1918. On this occasion, he kept up communication between the O.P. and the battery during an action east of Douai. The wire was cut several times through enemy shell fire, but on each occasion he restored communication.´
