Portugal, Military Order of the Tower and Sword, a fine quality Collar Chain by A.J. Strachan, London, and attractive Badge; Collar, silver-gilt (Hallmarks for London 1833), of 18 alternate towers and wreath with sword links, one link fully hallmarked, all the others also hallmarked except one which is a replacement, joined by 8 harp-shaped links, these unmarked; Badge, 89mm. x 72mm., silver-gilt, gold and enamel, with attractive iridescent centre, attached to Collar by means of a K.C.B. style suspension ring, in addition a gold pin fitting on the reverse, minor green enamel damage to centre, otherwise good very fine, rare Estimate £ 2,500-3,000 Provenance Spink Numismatic Circular September 1993, no.6907
