GREAT BRITAIN Postal History 1876 (1 May) blue envelope used locally in London bearing 1d. Plate 189 tied by London E.C. duplex and with manuscript "Over" at left, the reverse with various annotations with regard to attempted delivery including "Opened by but not for Mr Ellis 49 Fenchurch St." and showing a good strike of "received open and resealed/e.c.d.o." partly overstruck by the c.d.s.; with two Post Office wax seals, unusual and scarce.
