British Aviation Memorabilia An early ballooning token, in copper or bronze, the obverse struck with an image of a balloon carrying two passengers holding flags, inscribed ASCENDED AT OXFORD JUNE 23 1823, the reverse showing a figure in profile and inscribed IRONMONGER-BISHOPSGATE LONDON-; a similar token, also displaying a balloon on one side with inscription IRONMONGER-BISHOPSGATE - LONDON, the other side bearing the same figure as on the previous item and ISAAC EARLYSMAN SPARROW 1-8, 2-5; a silver medallion (HM B'ham 1913) with maker's initials V&S, the obverse struck with initials S.M.A.E. and image of a monoplane and biplane in flight, the reverse with laurel wreath around a space presumably for a recipient's name; a Vesta case with enamelled body inscribed with details of The Home Yeast Co Ltd and image of a balloon inscribed NEVER DONE RISING; and a grey china mug with gilded decoration and inscribed David, with illustrations on both sides of Santa Claus distributing presents to children respectively from a balloon-basket and from a dirigible (5) Estimate £ 150-200
