Norway. Frederik III of Denmark (1648-1670). 165(1 or 2) Speciedaler, gilded and mounted as an elaborate 18th Century pendant. Crowned, draped and armored bust right, the cheek and hair tooled; Crowned double-tailed lion rampant holding a curved halberd. Rønning 43d, Skaare 537, KM 40. Set in an openwork silver frame with six faceted red stones, Norwegian 16 Skilling, 1716 and two 8 Skilling coins of Frederik IV as bangles, each with two suspended convex discs, below. Loop with decorative silver suspension engraved with saltire. Aggregate weight: 54.64 gm. An interesting and wearable Norwegian period piece.
