Transylvania. Sigismund Báthori (1581-1602). Taler, 1593. Nagybánya (Neustadt, Baia Mare). Armored, bare-headed, half-figure right, holding scepter against shoulder, small cross before, rev. Crowned and supported dragon-teeth Bathori Arms. Dav.8804, Huszár 128. On the NGC holder this coin is noted as an overdate "1593/2" which it is not, there is a small ghosted "2" way to the right of the "3" which may be an old collection number or the remnant of an undertype.
