ST. VINCENT Early Letters and Handstamps 1861 envelope to London, showing red crayon "5" and a good to fine strike of Crowned circle "paid/at/st vincent" with arrival c.d.s. (29.4) alongside, both in red. Photo Estimate £ 500-600 Note: This cover is used in the first "provisional" period between Spring of 1860, when St. Vincent took over control of its own Post Office, and 1st May 1861 when the first adhesives were issued. Under the Act of 14th June 1860, the Colony was authorised to retain 1d. on a half ounce letter.
