CAPE OF GOOD HOPE 1861 "Woodblock" Issue Due to the nature of the paper used for these issues many examples show irregularities, both in the form of surface pitting and in the form of pre-printing paper creases. Our descriptions usually exclude the above, any defects mentioned being those which occurred after the stamps were delivered Four Pence Pale Bright Blue Single Type II, clear to very large margins showing portion of adjoining stamp at foot where there is a small scissor-cut in the margin, clearly tied and hinged on 1861 (29 Mar.) entire from Port Elizabeth to Grahams Town, despatch oval d.s. in red across flap.
