CAPE OF GOOD HOPE 1861 "Woodblock" Issue Due to the nature of the paper used for these issues many examples show irregularities, both in the form of surface pitting and in the form of pre-printing paper creases. Our descriptions usually exclude the above, any defects mentioned being those which occurred after the stamps were delivered One Penny Carmine Pair with good to large margins and wide bars cancellation; one stamp cut-into and the other with small surface defect on "e" of "penny".
