CAPE OF GOOD HOPE 1853 Issue on Covers 1858 (25 Jan.) entire letter from Port Elizabeth "per Steamer 'Norman' via Cape Town" to Edinburgh, bearing 1d. brick-red pair on slightly blued paper with clear to good margins and in combination with white paper 4d. blue with good to large margins, both neatly cancelled and showing large "1d" accountancy handstamp in red, the reverse showing Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Cape Packet Devonport and Edinburgh d.s.
