An Officer's Uniform of the West Kent Militia A scarlet coatee, circa 1850, of Infantry regulation pattern, with pale blue facings and silver lace loops to collar and cuff-slashes, skirt-ornaments consisting of number 37 within a star in silver embroidery; white metal buttons displaying the Horse of Kent within an eight-pointed star, the top ray displaced by a crown (epaulettes missing) See illustration Estimate £ 300-450 The Militia List shows the West Kent Militia as Light Infantry with the number 37. Their facing-colour is noted as "Kentish Grey."
