†Military General Service 1793-1814, one clasp, Sahagun & Benevente (Job Upton, 18th Hussars), contact mark to obverse, edge bruising, otherwise very fine Estimate £ 1,200-1,400 Private Job Upton, born Stretton, Stafford; discharged 11.11.1814, having served seven years and 354 days with the Regiment, 'in consequence of losing his right leg in action with the enemy at Tores Moralles on the 2nd day of June 1813.' The British forces at Tores Moralles (Northern Spain) were 600 in number and mostly composed of 10th Hussars. The British suffered 16 killed or wounded int the action, whilst the French 16th Dragoons was effectively destroyed as a result.
