Three British Cavalry Troopers' Swords An 1853 Pattern sword, as Robson Fig. 25, the blade by J&C and stamped with Crown above BR/3, in regulation steel scabbard; an 1885 Pattern sword with regulation 341/2 in. blade (edge severely nicked), the guard with turned-over edges and good chequered grip, in steel scabbard of Continental appearance, having its ring-bands unusually close together; and another 1885 Pattern sword, the guard marked with numerous issue- stamps, the most recent apparently RA 19 (the tip of the blade rounded off), in a Pattern 1885 Mk 1 steel scabbard, the mouthpiece stamped PTA 210 4.10 (3) See illustration Estimate £ 120-180
