Southcott 9/Lon: R.); British War and Victory Medals (Capt.), contact marks, very fine (3) Estimate £ 220-240 Captain Arthur James Southcott, born 1895, South Woodford, Essex; enlisted Private, 1/9th Battalion London Regiment 3.9.1914, served in France and Belgium, 4.11.1914 - 5.1.1915; Second Lieutenant 12 Battalion Essex Regiment attached to 1/9th Battalion Manchester Regiment, in the Dardanelles; contracted gastritis and enteritus 11.12.1915 and was invalided home; joined 10th Essex Regiment whilst part of 53rd Brigade, 18th Division; wounded in the right buttock and received shrapnel wounds to the intestines in the Courcellete sector on the Somme, 17.10.1916; Lieutenant, 3rd Battalion Essex Regiment; Captain 10th Battalion Essex Regiment
