Egerton, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment, Late City of London Yeomanry Queen's South Africa, four clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 (14585 Pte. B. G. Egerton. Impl: Yeomanry); Territorial Force Efficiency Medal E.VII.R. (1507 L. Sjt. City of Lon:Yeo); 1914-15 Star (2375 Sjt.); British War and Victory Medals (2.Lieut), good very fine or better (5) Estimate £ 350-400 Second Lieutenant Bertram Gustavus Egerton (1882-1916), born Pimlico, London; enlisted City of London Yeomanry (Rough Riders) 1900, and served with the regiment in South Africa 1900-1901 20th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry with 72nd Company attached to Imperial Light Horse; served in the Great War with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force 11.4.1915 - 10.10.1915; 2nd Lieutenant, 9th Battalion Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment, died of wounds, received in action, 8.9.1916; buried Bouzincourt Communal Cemetery Extension, France. The 9th (Service) Battalion relieved the 13th Cheshire Regiment in trenches at Ovillers 6.9.1916.
