MacGregor, Former Director of Medical Services Singapore and the Federation of Malaya, Prisoner of War at Changi and Sime Road Camps, Singapore During the Second War Order of St. Michael and St. George, Commander's neck Badge (C.M.G.), 65mm, silver-gilt and enamel, slight enamel damage to reverse left arm, in Garrard, London case of issue; Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Commander's neck Badge, 55mm, silver and enamel; Order of St. John of Jerusalem, breast Badge, silver and enamel slight enamel damage to reverse upper and left arms; Defence Medal; Jubilee 1935; Coronation 1937, the last four mounted as worn; with riband bar and related group of five miniature awards, and three contemporary documents including a copy of 'The Medical Journal of Malaya, March 1949' written by the recipient on the conditions in Malaya during the Japanese occupation (11) Estimate £ 300-350 C.M.G. (1896-1980); educated Edinburgh University; served R.A.M.C. 1918-20, on demobilisation in Singapore, joined Malayan Medical Service; Director of Medical Services, Straits Settlements when the Japanese overran Malaya in February 1942; interned for three and half years at Changi and Sime Road Camps, Singapore (C.M.G. and Commander of St. John of Jerusalem 1946); retired Colonial Medical Service 1951; after a period of private practice, served as a Medical Officer with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, in the NATO fleets; retired 1975.
