†An Assortment of Headdress A Trooper's chapka with scarlet top and KC plate of 12th Lancers pattern, the inside of the top stamped WD 1902, with red horsehair plume (plate re-fixed and top probably restitched); an officer's blue cloth helmet with brass ball ornament on OR's spike base, now fitted with a fine gilt KC plate of the Royal Army Medical Corps (upper part of lining replaced, leather edge to back peak defective, hooks to chin-chain rosettes replaced); a helmet of Colonial style, painted white, now fitted with blackened ornaments and replica QVC plate of the King's Royal Rifle Corps; another helmet, of similar style, covered with white drill and fitted with white cotton puggaree and brass ball ornament on dome base, bearing a cast brass plate of OR's Royal Artillery pattern; an NCO's forage cap of the Coldstream Guards by Compton Webb (Headdress) Ltd, with anodised badge; a WO 2's forage cap of the Welsh Guards by A. GRANTHAM LTD, with four rows of gold Russia braid on peak, green/ black band with anodised badge; and a German Army officer's post WW2 grey cap by ALBERT KEMPF K.G of Wuppertal and dated 1960, with metallic braid piping to crown-seam and edges of band, metallic embroidery on peak and badge, a small kokarde in black, red and (presumably) gold above the badge (7) See illustration of major items Estimate £ 180-250
