LABUAN Covers and Cancellations 1883 (25 June) 4c. green card (1881 issue) to Southampton, cancelled with nine-bar oval and showing a large part strike of the "labuan" c.d.s. (D4) at left; the card written by Commander F.C.P. Verecker from H.M.S. Magpie notes that he is "off to North Borneo surveying"; surface faults at left side though a scarce non-philatelic usage.
