Thailand Royal Mail 1853 envelope from the Royal Household and sealed by large red wax impression of the Royal seal together with a fancy bordered label showing manuscript "King (2nd) of Siam" with has later been notated in blue crayon "The late", addressed to John Bowring, Acting Governor, Hong Kong c/o Messers John Purvis & Co., Singapore and then re-addressed to London via the Postmaster General at Galle, Ceylon, showing red crayon "1/-" and, on reverse, framed "singapore/Paid" d.s. in red, Galle transit d.s. and red London arrival c.d.s.; the envelope damaged and rebacked at right. A most remarkable item of Royal Mail, and one of the very few sent through the postal system. Photo Estimate S$ 12,000-15,000
