Gooding including 1878 (1 Feb.) two page a.l.s. from Khartoum regarding railway construction; (1 Mar.) 2 page a.l.s. along with unstamped envelope with "poste egiziane/assuan" c.d.s. from Korosko regarding shipping and sanitation; (18 Sept.) a.l.s. from Khartoum concerning railway construction; (15 Nov.) three folios lettered A, B and C (repaired at folds) from Khartoum concerning Nile navigation with sketch map, Berthon collapsible boats and asking for rail progress and reports; (20 Nov.) note from Khartoum along with two covers, one of which has had a stamp torn away; and 1879 (8 Apr.) two page a.l.s. regarding death blow to the slave trade and Sudan revolt nearly ended.
