City of Glasgow Bank, £1, Glasgow, 11 November 1876, serial number G 53/273, black and white, value in blue underprint at centre and in blue panel, the Chalon portrait of Queen Victoria top centre, arms at left and right centre, royal arms low centre, two manuscript signatures below, rev. blue and white arms at centre (Douglas 6), ink annotation on reverse stating that the note was received on 2 October 1878, the day the bank suspended payment, a fresh good extremely fine and a lovely example, one of the finest examples believed extant, very rare.
