Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, two clasps, Cape Colony, Laing's Nek (Major F.H.A. Des Voeux 6/Drgn: Gds), extremely fine Estimate £ 240-280 Major Sir Frederick Henry Arthur Des Voeux (1857-1937), entered the 6th Dragoon Guards as 2nd Lieutenant 1878, served in the Afghan War 1879-80; Lieutenant 1881; Captain 1887; retired 1897; Major, Reserve of Officers 1902; succeeded his father as the seventh Baronet in 1914 and was recalled to duty in September of the same year.
