South Africa Medal 1834-1853 (Major H.D. Kyle. 45th Regt.), extremely fine Estimate £ 450-500 Lieutenant Colonel Hallam D'Arcy Kyle, Captain 45th Regiment 1839, served in the last Kaffir War 1850-53, and advanced to Lieutenant Colonel October 1853; transferred to (Brevet Lt. Colonel) 27th Regiment 1854 and commanded them at the opening of the Indian Mutiny Campaign of 1857-58; in operations against the mutineers of the 55th Native Infantry: died at Peshawar 11.10.1857
