Great Britain 1793 (31 Oct.) entire letter, carried privately, addressed merely to "Major John Scott", the letter is an application to the Postmaster General for the dismissal of the Postmaster of Llandovery and lists some of his extraordinary misdemeanours: "Letters are not regularly delivered.... they are frequently opened..... the contents of private letters have been made public.... perhaps to gratify private curiosity.... the office is kept at a public inn.... sometimes it is left to the directions of a waiter"; light folds.
