Great Britain 1631 (15 Aug.) entire letter from the Bishop of Lichfield and Coventry at Eccleshall Castle, to Sir Henry Rich (the Earl of Holland) in London, in which he complains about the conduct of Sir Arthur Mainwaring; slightly scuffed fold crosses the address but barely detracts, otherwise fine and clean. Sir Henry Rich, a member of the Privy Council under Charles I in 1631, went on to become General of the Horse in 1639, was captured by Parliamentary forces at St. Neots in July 1648 and beheaded despite pleas for clemency by Lord Fairfax.
