Great Britain 1570 Warrant signed by the Lord Treasurer "Winchester" (The Marquess of Winchester) authorising payment to the Queen's Messenger, Antony Conway, for the delivery of Royal letters for the Privy Council from London to Southampton Customs and the Mayor of Plymouth, an endorsement by the Clerk of the Treasury notes that he was paid £13-6s.-8d. subscribed for Chidiock Wardure; minor perimeter faults, some folds with small splits and slight water staining at top though none detracting from this rare and important piece of postal history.
