Mary (1542-67), Testoon, 6.08g., third period, 1561, bust of Mary left in French bonnet and high-necked dress, date below in tablet, maria dei gra scotorvm regina, rev., crowned arms of France and Scotland, four pellets on fillet of crown, crowned m each side, salvvm fac popvlvm tvvm domine (B 2, fig. 897; S.5422), lightly double struck on obverse, raised die flaw before bust, otherwise a pleasing example of this attractive coin, deeply and evenly toned, good very fine, rare thus Estimate £ 3,000-4,000 provenance:
