A H Baldwin, writing to R C Lockett in 1916 concerning a James VI Rider in the Alexander Mann sale, noted 'Quite a few are being found on the Norfolk coast. I have seen ten or so'. A significant number of Riders seem to be old sea salvage coins from this source
