Elizabeth I, fifth issue, Sovereign, 15.37g., queen enthroned holding orb and sceptre, portcullis at feet, tressure unbroken by throne, back of throne and uprights decorated with pellets, rev., square-topped shield on Tudor rose, pellet stops, m.m. tun (Brown & Comber A26; Schneider 783 (same dies); N.2003; S.2529), tiny dig in field above portcullis, otherwise a pleasing full round specimen with golden/red toning, almost extremely fine, rare Estimate £ 7,000-8,000 provenance:
