James I, second coinage, Shilling, 5.94g., fourth bust, m.m. grapes, crowned bust right, with hair brushed forward and plain armour, rev., square shield, qvae devs conivnit nemo separet (N.2100; S2655), an excellent piece, struck on a perfectly round prepared flan, deeply toned, almost extremely fine, extremely rare thus Estimate £ 1,500-2,000 provenance: Spink Numismatic Circular, July 1942, no.15413 £25-0-0 Probably a piece of 'Fine Work', the only other comparable mintmark grapes Shilling is the magnificent Lingford example, lot 1214, ex Morrieson lot 378, which is struck from different dies
