Great Britain. An early 19th-century military flintlock pistol, in the style of the 'Sea Service' Pattern. Walnut stock, brass fixtures and fittings, steel lock and barrel, complete with wooden ramrod and this with fluted brass tip, two proofing stamps to rear of barrel, the lock-plate unmarked, the interior of the barrel rifled, overall length 15.5in. Due to the absence of the 'Tower' stamp and rifled barrel, this may have been a privately-purchased item for use by an officer of the Royal Navy or Royal Marines during the French Revolutionary or Napoleonic Wars. Cocking mechanism in good sound working condition. Good Very Fine.
