William Shakespeare, 1911 W.S. Ogden Medals. Silver and Bronze, 50mm. By F. Bowcher. Bust ¾ right, rev. The Muse of Poesy standing, facing, placing wreath on Shakespeare head, Puck seated beside her, between masks of Comedy and Tragedy. BHM 4086, Eimer 1927. Sponsored by Shakespeare aficionado William Sharp Ogden, this medal's obverse portrait is that on a painting that had come into Ogden's possession which he wished to record on a medal.
