Winston Churchill, Liverpool 1951 B&W Photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt. Gelatin Silver print from the original negative in 1979 by Igor Bakht. 12 ½ x 9 1/2. Signed by Eisenstaedt. Limited edition #21/50 from LIFE Gallery of Photography. Churchill in scarf and top hat facing, flashing V for Victory. Of the captured image, Eisenstaedt recalls "Later I went with him to Liverpool on his campaign trip. While I was standing right in front of him, taking pictures, he suddenly fell asleep. The band started to play 'God save the King', but he was still dozing. His son, Randolph, leaned over and pushed him on the right shoulder, and up shot Winston Churchill, arm automatically upraised."
