Korea. Wang Dynasty. Lot of early coinage. Kon wong Chung bao, rev. tong guk ("Country of the East"), 996-1009 AD - three examples: 24.7 (2), and 26mm. Korea's earliest coinage, these coins it is believed were issued in the 15th year of King Seongjong's (981-997) reign, some experts though opine that these coins were actually cast in the Chinese state of Bohai, which is considered a former Korean kingdom. VF-Choice VF; Included is a Chinese Tang Dynasty Cash coin of Su Zong (758-762), on which the Korean coins obverse is modeled on; also Yi Dynasty. Choson tong bao, 1423-1425. Two examples, both heavy earthen hues, Fine; and early sang pyong tong bao. Blank reverse, ca. 1633-1680s. 27.8mm. Good VF. (7)
